Social Value

Social value

Helping the communities we work in to flourish is something close to our hearts. As a Pioneering, Responsible, Proud Community we’ve made it our goal to bring people together and inspire the next generation of housebuilders.

Based on our own unique values, we’ve created a Corporate Social Responsibility plan that promotes initiatives to support and empower our local communities.

The ilke Academy

Developing our centre of excellence was our first social value initiative. We’re pioneering an onsite training facility, the UK’s first in modular housing.

We’re pioneering an onsite training facility, the UK’s first in modular housing. A place where our experts can share their skills and knowledge with anyone who wants to learn, qualify and pursue a career in modern construction. So far, it’s proving pretty successful.

Our values.

We dare to dream and don’t set limitations, with the knowledge of challenge, we go the extra mile.

We are one team and take ownership for our actions. With a focus on performance, we drive results whilst being kind to the individual.

We focus on getting the job done because near enough isn’t good enough; we shout about our successes.

We know that we win and lose together and are focussed on being better together giving everyone an opportunity.

Primary Schools

Changing perceptions about careers within construction and manufacturing is one of our toughest tasks.

That’s why we partnered with former England Rugby World Cup winner, Jason Robinson to get the ball rolling.

Working with Jason, we launched our I Can Do Anything initiative. It’s designed to inspire young minds to help them believe they can achieve anything and empower them to think beyond normal boundaries. The end goal is to promote careers in STEM and housebuilding in a fun, hands-on way.

One of our first partnerships was Queensway Primary School, Leeds. Our aim was to encourage pupils to engage with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). The children were also introduced to the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle, through exciting sports coaching, headed up by Jason, using sports equipment donated by ilke Homes.

“Children from every walk of life need to believe they have every chance of achieving their goals if they have a strong work ethic. An amazing life isn’t exclusively for children who start out with more and the ‘I Can Do Anything’ initiative is there to instil belief and encourage any child to expect great things of themselves.” Will Riley Headteacher of Queensway Primary School
"I've really enjoyed the lessons because we work together and we can do more than we thought we could".

"Chris makes the lessons fun and we learn lots about sport and expecting great things of ourselves".

"We've learned about team work and how to work together to achieve what we want".

"I feel fitter and like I can take on bigger challenges".

The initiative has been hugely successful.

We’re so pleased, we’re already making plans to introduce it into other local schools and areas with particularly under represented groups. By promoting vital skills within an inclusive, fun environment, we hope to end the lack of trades and craftsmanship that’s compounded the housing shortage in the UK.
