Summary of Position: 

Working for a recently established, well capitalised, innovative and dynamic business, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. 

Working as part our Finance Team, under the leadership of the Financial Reporting Manager, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for the balance sheet, payroll reconciliations and intercompany ledgers. 

The Financial Accountant will be expected to work on ad hoc requests and projects, as well as liaising with other Finance Team members and department heads to help drive the business’ financial strategy. 


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for all group companies  
  • Preparing recharge between intercompany entities, reflecting the accurate current position of all group companies; recording transaction correctly in each entity on a monthly basis; including invoicing between entities and VAT treatment. 
  • Ensure schedules are kept up to date for accruals, prepayments, retentions and warranty. 
  • Oversight and/or preparation of VAT returns. 
  • Working with the Payroll Administrator to approve the monthly payrolls; post the GL entries, feedback cost data to the divisional finance teams, and report on total spend. 
  • Oversight and management of Fixed Assets (tangible and intangible); reporting, tagging and ensuring depreciation is correct. 
  • Working with the auditors to ensure their requests are met timely and accurately; and working with divisional finance teams to support in these requests. 
  • Adherence to and improvement of the financial operational controls 
  • Provide day-to-day financial support to the business leads including ad-hoc requests and analysis 
  • To assist in the delivery, maintenance and control of accounting services, for statutory, regulatory and internal management reporting  
  • Supporting colleagues responsible for the purchase and sales ledger 


Personal Specifications: 

Qualifications & Training: 

  •  CIMA / ACCA – Part Qualified 


Essential Experience  

  • Relevant accounting experience. 
  • Strong system / analytical skills proven by demonstrable career achievements.  
  • Solid financial skills proven by demonstrable career achievements.    
  • Advanced user of MS Excel & MS Powerpoint. 


Desirable Experience  

  • Business Central (previously Dynamics 365) 


Qualities & Attitude 

  • Positive, self-motivated and able to work effectively without close supervision. 
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills to differing levels of hierarchy.  
  • Strong work ethic for doing things the right way. 
  • Skilled in the use of IT equipment and common office products such as the Microsoft Office suite and email, including SharePoint, Dynamics and Excel.
