As the Senior Leader you will lead a team of Section Leaders in what will be a predominantly hands on and factory-based role, with the primary responsibility for the tactical delivery of the plan encompassing both achievement of production targets and continued support of future initiatives required for the transformation to a world class manufacturing facility.
 
As Senior Section Leader you will be results driven and focussed, with a can-do attitude which will be imparted to your team. You will mentor and motivate your team to achieve their targets, communicate team performance daily and actively encourage a team approach to resolution and improvement.
 
Team flexibility will be a key driver and you will assist your Section Leaders to map out and deliver a training plan to meet this target.
 
You will manage your team to ensure resource availability through effective holiday and absence management, supporting your team with effective performance management. You will resolve any resource shortages by transferring resource from other teams.
 
You will ensure all relevant QMS and administrative procedures such as ERP operation closure, QIR completion and SOP’s etc are followed, and that the importance of these procedures are firmly embedded within the team.
 
You will be passionate regards the safety of you team and actively encourage a culture of risk mitigation through effective near miss reporting. You will be responsible for improving overall the housekeeping standards and will act as the 5S champion for you team.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead 3 to 4 Section leaders with a combine team size of circa 70 team members.
  • Ensure resource availability through effective Holiday and Absence management.
  • Create and provide safe working environment for your team by both ensuring that they work in accordance with all relevant procedures and instil a culture of risk mitigation through effective near miss reporting.
  • Execute the Production Plan and escalate all issues and constraints to ensure on time completion.
  • Manage resource shortages through transfer from other teams to ensure the Production targets are achieved.
  • Develop and execute contingency plans to recover lost production regardless of root cause.
  • Ensure effective daily communication through daily SQCD principles with your team.
  • Ensure all QMS and business processes and procedures are followed and the importance of these are embedded within the team.
  • Using the existing Skills matrix, compile and execute a training plan to ensure progressive increased team flexibility.
Personal Specifications:
 
Qualifications & Training:
  • No formal education required for the right candidate
  • Knowledge of ilke Homes Production spanning more than one area / team.
Experience
  • Leading a team of 30 or more in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate – Excel + other MS Office software.
  • Strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
Qualities & Attitude:
  • Confident, approachable, listening, respectful, enthusiastic & a good communicator.
  • Results focussed and able to work under pressure.

Hours:

This role will initially be working on our day shift 06:00 – 14:30 however with the view from October 2021 to be working on the afternoon shift 14:30 – 22:30
